"The Fugitive" was a one-hour television program which ran on the ABC television network from 1963 to 1967. Dr. Richard Kimble is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and escapes from a train carrying him to a prison. He wanders the country searching for the "real killer", a one-armed man. He is pursued by police Lt. Gerard who was taking him to prison. This episode is titled "Fear in a Desert City" and was first broadcast on September 17, 1963. Dr. Kimble, as James Lincoln, is working as a bartender in a bar in Tucson, Arizona. Monica Welles (Vera Miles) plays the piano in the bar. Her husband Edward Welles (Brian Keith), a wealthy man, has been drinking and harasses James. Later James rescues Monica from a physical attack by Edward. While Edward Welles talks to James he holds Morgan silver dollars and plays with them.

Edward begins harassing bartender James Lincoln.

Edward asks James to server Monica a drink but she nods her head "no."
