Silver dollar issues:
 
These notes were issued by Nationalist China in 1949 and were supposedly backed by silver. The Nationalist government also had silver dollars manufactured by the United States and Mexico to support the currency.
 
The Communists controlled most of China by this time. The last cities held by the Nationalists in 1949 were Chungking and Canton.
