"The Rebel" was a half-hour Western television program which ran on the ABC television network from 1959 to 1961. The main character was Johnny Yuma, a former Confederate soldier roaming the American West of the late 1860's.
 
This episode is titled "Blind Marriage" and was first broadcast on April 17, 1960.
 
Johnny is in San Francisco where he helps a Chinese man whose daughter is going to be married in Sacramento.
 
She is carrying a chest full of coins as a dowry to be paid to the husband whom she has never met.
At one point the chest spills coins onto a house floor.

1. Title
Johnny is working for a stagecoach company as a "riding shotgun" or guard.
 
A Chinese man, Quong Lee, attempts to purchase a ride for himself and his daughter.

2. The Quongs attempt
The company clerk refuses him and a fight ensues between Johnny and two other employees. Johnny is taken to the Quongs' house.

3. At the Quongs' house
They are joined by two suspicious men, Young and Collins.
 
They discuss the Chinese custom of arranged marriage and Quong Lee gives a talk on the "Chinese water torture".

4. Quong Lia holds chest
Young "accidently" bumps into the Quongs' servant and knocks the chest over.

5. Chest spills
Lots of coins lay on the floor.
They are supposed to be silver and gold coins but appear to be imitation or prop coins.

6. Young picking up the coins
Quong Lee offers Johnny a reward for assisting him, Johnny asks for $75, and Quong gives him the money in three coins.

7. Johnny gets $75
The coins would have to be a $50 gold coin, a $20 coin, and a $5 coin to add up to $75. There were privately minted $50 gold coins in California at the time.
 
The Quongs leave for Sacramento followed by Johnny. Johnny encounters Lia who tells him that two men held up the stagecoach, beat up her father, and took the chest.
 
Johnny then encounters Young and Collins and believes that they were working with the robbers. He starts a Western version of the "water torture".

8. Getting a confession
Collins confesses and gives Johnny the location of the two robbers. He rides to their campground, and at gunpoint, takes the chest back to the Quongs.
 
Johnny says goodbye to the Quongs and climbs onto the stagecoach.

The stagecoach company has new owners.
