Radio host runs contest with Spanish gold doubloon as prize

"Baywatch" was an one-hour television series which ran on the NBC television network
for one year and then in syndication from 1989 to 1999. It was set on a Los Angeles beach
and the main characters were lifeguards who patrolled the beaches.

his program at the opening of the Sandy Kaye cafe.

The coin does not resemble a real Spanish doubloon at all and appears to be a generic imitation coin.
4. Mitch warns Larry
Mitch warns Larry that his contest may cause injuries to beachgoers.
Larry tells Mitch that he has a permit from the city and that the cafe owner, Kaye Morgan, approved of the promotion.
Sergeant Garner Ellerbee of the police force watches over the contest.
5. Mitch and Kaye
Kaye happens to be Mitch's girlfriend.
6. Matt and C.J.
Matt and C.J. rescue a few people stuck on cliffs or in the water.
7. Basel and the clue
Basel has found the final clue next to a skeleton wearing a pirate hat.
8. C.J. and Matt
The three leave the cave and are driven back to the main beach.
Larry Large awards Basel the prize coin.
9. Basel wins the prize
Mitch and Sergeant Ellerbee discover that Basel works for the city and issued the permit for the promotion.
Sergeant Ellerbee chases Basel who accidently sends the coin into the air.
10. The coin flies off
Basel and Larry are arrested.
11. The plot explained
Sergeant Ellerbee and Mitch explain that the contest was a fraud and that the coin belonged to Larry's father.
