The 1943 film "Target For Today" is a documentary film about a World War II United States Army Air Forces bomber crew stationed in Britain and going on a bombing mission to Germany.

The film shows the pre-mission planning and preparation, the mission, and post-mission activities.

Before leaving on the mission the crew members are required to leave items which could identify themselves or mission activities. The items turned in are placed in numbered pouches for return to the crew members after the mission or to their families if the men do not return. These items include identification papers, letters, and money, including coins.

The scenes show various items and coins left by one crewman. The coins do not appear to be real British or European coins but tokens or "prop coins." The film makers probably created a fictional crewman and used imitation coins for security reasons. However, a real British large penny does appear in a couple of scenes.
