The 1959 film "Solomon and Sheba" is based on the Biblical history of the ancient Hebrew king of Israel and his relationship with the unnamed Queen of Sheba, although although the story is much altered for motion picture purposes.

The Egyptians plan to conquer Israel and the dying King David (Finlay Currie) appoints his son Solomon (Yul Brynner) as king instead of Solomon's brother Adonijah (George Sanders) who wanted the position.

The Queen of Sheba (Gina Lollobrigida) is working for the Egyptians and is sent to visit King Solomon to get information. They meet and begin a romance. Adonijah also joins the Egyptians.

Several intrigues and battles follow ending with Solomon's army victorious over Egypt and the Queen leaving to return to Sheba carrying Solomon's child.

At one seduction of Solomon, the Queen wears a headband of gold coins. She later wears a headband of silver coins and a necklace of silver coins.
