The 2022 film "The Secrets of Bella Vista" was based on Susan Wiggs's 2015 novel The Apple Orchard. The film was produced by the Hallmark Channel and is about a young woman who inherits "Bella Vista" a Napa Valley ranch and apple orchard and learns a lot about her family and ancestors. Tess Delaney works in San Francisco at an antiques store. Damhnaic McAuley, a banker, visits her and informs her that her grandfather died and left her half of a ranch. Tess learns from residents of the ranch that her grandfather had a "treasure" hidden there and later finds three valuable US silver coins. The coins are shown at the end and appear to be imitations of early United States silver dollars of the variety known as Draped Bust Type Heraldic Eagle Reverse.

Tess works at an antiques store in San Francisco which is part of a larger antiques business. She hopes to be promoted by the company to an executive position at the company headquarters in New York. Kiley is her assistant and hopes to follow her to New york.

Damhnaic McAuley visits the store and asks to talk to Tess. He informs her that he is a banker and that her grandfather Magnus has died and left her half of a ranch located in the fictional town of Arcangel in the Napa Valley. Tess was raised by her maternal grandmother and had little contact with her mother who was an international antiques buyer. Tess has never met her father who disappeared when she was born and she has never met her paternal grandparents, Magnus and Eva. Damhnaic owns an airplane and flies Tess to the ranch where she meets Isabel, her half sister, who grew up on the ranch. Tess spends some time at the ranch meeting the employees and looking around.

Isabel tells Tess about her grandparents Magnus and Eva who were from Denmark and Germany and immigrated to the US bring a few items. Eva's father was a coin collector and Eva brought some rare coins with her. Damhnaic tells Tess that the ranch is mortgaged and that bankers are about to foreclose on the ranch.

Tess spots some coin jewelry and remembers the "rare coins" which are described as "1804 silver bust collars of class one." The word "collars" is used several times and, from the description of the coins, these are the famous 1804 dollars of which there were eight originals minted. They are known as "bust" dollars due to the woman facing right on the coins. Tess learns that one was sold in 2017 for $4,000,000. Tess's mother Shannon visits the ranch.

If the women can locate the three coins they can pay off the mortgage and start a business. Tess finds a German real estate document which mentions the three coins as collateral for a loan. Isabel mentions that Eric, Tess's father, at one time took the coins to San Francisco to sell to a coin dealer but was killed in a car accident. The man riding in the car with him was a ranch employee who survived the wreck and then disappeared. Tess visits the San Francisco coin dealer.

The dealer tells her that a man did try to sell the coins but did not have authentication papers. Tess and Isabel talk to the daughter of the employee who disappeared and she admits that she has the coins and gives them to Tess and Isabel.

The coins were kept loose in an envelope.

The coins are smaller than real US silver dollars and appear to be prop coins or smaller imitations of early United States silver dollars of the variety known as Draped Bust Type Heraldic Eagle Reverse, minted from 1798 to 1804.
Tess resigns from the antiques company and suggests that her assistant Kiley get the New York executive position. Tess arranges to sell the coins through her former employers. Tess and Isabel hire Damhnaic as the ranch manager. Later, having saved the ranch, Tess and Damhnaic get together.
