The 1949 film "Savage Splendor" is a documentary film about the Armand Denis and Lewis Cotlow Expedition which travelled 22,000 miles through Tanganyika, the Belgian Congo and British East Africa.
 
The expedition filmed lots of animals and African natives.
 
At one point in Tanganyika (now Tanzania) the men have to make some purchases with the local currency, British East Africa shilling and cent coins.
