"The Rebel" was a half-hour Western television program which ran on the ABC television network from 1959 to 1961.
The main character was Johnny Yuma, a former Confederate soldier roaming the American West of the late 1860's.

Johnny is working for a stagecoach company as a "riding shotgun" or guard.
![]() 2. The Quongs attempt
The company clerk refuses him and a fight ensues between Johnny and two other employees.
Johnny is taken to the Quongs' house.

They are joined by two suspicious men, Young and Collins.
![]() 4. Quong Lia holds chest
Young "accidently" bumps into the Quongs' servant and knocks the chest over.

Lots of coins lay on the floor.
They are supposed to be silver and gold coins but appear to be imitation or prop coins. ![]() 6. Young picking up the coins
Quong Lee offers Johnny a reward for assisting him, Johnny asks for $75,
and Quong gives him the money in three coins.

The coins would have to be a $50 gold coin, a $20 coin, and a $5 coin to add up to $75.
There were privately minted $50 gold coins in California at the time.

Collins confesses and gives Johnny the location of the two robbers.
He rides to their campground, and at gunpoint, takes the chest back to the Quongs.
