Police investigating a crime find untouched cash and coins

The 1954 film "Them!" is a murder mystery with an unusual set of killers.
 
Two New Mexico State Policemen, Sgt. Ben Peterson (James Whitmore) and Trooper Ed Blackburn, discover a recreational trailer which they find trashed and a little girl wandering nearby. The girl is taken to a hospital where she is asked what she saw and she screams "Them!"
 
The policemen later visit a local store which they also find trashed with money left in the cash registers.
