These paper currency notes were issued during the Mexican Revolution of 1910-1925 by the Mexican states of Chihuahua, Sonora, and Sinaloa and by the Army of the Northwest and the Provisional Government.
 
These notes were later copied by American motion picture studios for use as stage or prop money and frequently appear in films.

These notes were issued by the Constitutionalist Government of Venustiano Carranza. This note shows the Mexican volcanos Iztaccihuatl and Popocatepetl on the front and a Mexican silver peso of 1908 on the back.
