The CBS television program "Seinfeld" is a comedy about four young people living in modern day New York City.
 
Jerry Seinfeld (Jerry Seinfeld) is a nightclub comedian. George Costanza (Jason Alexander) is Jerry's friend and is conniving and jealous. Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) is Jerry's neighbor with a laid-back personality. Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) is Jerry's ex-girlfriend and somewhat sarcastic.
 
This episode is titled "The Puffy Shirt" and was first broadcast on September 23, 1993.
 
George has run out of money and moves in with his parents Estelle Costanza (Estelle Harris) and Frank Costanza (Jerry Stiller).
 
Jerry is going to do a benefit show for Goodwill Industries, a used clothing organization which provides aid to homeless people. To promote his benefit show he appears on a morning television program.
 
Kramer's friend Leslie convinces Jerry to wear a puffy old-fashioned shirt during his television appearance to promote her shirt company. The shirt looks like one that pirates wore in old movies and there are lots of pirate jokes.
 
George and his parents go out to a restaurant for dinner. His father Frank pulls out a silver dollar and shows it to George and asks if he has ever seen one before. George answers "yes."

Frank continues:
 
Would you believe, when I was 18, I had a silver dollar collection? I couldnt bring myself to spend one of these, I got some kind of, uhh, phobia. I bet that collection would be worth a lot of money today."

Frank slides his hand over the coin and makes it disappear.

George gives a look which says that he has seen the trick before.
 
The group arrives at the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) television studios for Jerry's appearance on The Today Show, a morning television news and entertainment program.

Host Bryant Gumbel makes jokes about Jerry's shirt and Jerry says that it is the stupidest shirt that he has ever seen. Leslie, who is in the studio, starts yelling "you bastard!"
 
Later, at a coffee shop, Jerry talks to Kramer about the incident stating that the benefit was the worst show he ever did. Hecklers made remarks like "Avast ye, matey?"
 
Jerry was fired from the benefit committee and Leslie's puffy shirts were given to Goodwill.
 
Jerry and Kramer leave the coffee shop where two panhandlers ask for money.

11. Can you spare a little change?
One man is wearing a puffy shirt and asks "Can you spare a little change, for an old buccaneer?"
 
Jerry gives the man a coin which looks like a quarter.
