"The Hardy Boys" was an half-hour television series which was produced in 1995 by the Canadian Nelvana company and ran on American television in syndication.
 
The series was loosely based on the novels published by the Stratemeyer company and written by the fictional author Franklin W. Dixon.
 
The television program has the Hardy Boys as two brothers, Frank, a newspaper reporter, and Joe, a college student. They live in the fictional town of Bayport.
 
This episode is titled "All That Glitters" and was first broadcast on September 23, 1995.
 
Joe and Frank find a suitcase containing a collection of ancient-appearing gold coins.
 
The coins are shown together and separately when being held. They appear to be imitation or prop coins with designs based on Spanish "cob" coins.

Frank is a reporter for the Eagle newspaper and Joe is a college student.
 
The pair are driving a car in a garage and accidently hit a man. They call the police who question them.

3. Frank and Joe interviewed
Joe Hardy finds a key on the man and keeps it. The brothers test the key on other cars and unlock a trunk. They find a suitcase with a mounted collection of ancient-appearing gold coins.

4. Gold coins
They appear to be imitation or prop coins with designs based on Spanish "cob" coins which have crosses on them.
 
The brothers go to Frank's home and look at the coins.

5. Joe holds coin
Frank tells Joe that his newspaper received a press release about the "Luxor Gold" collection which was stolen from the tomb of Imhotep in the late 19th century.
 
Joe then bites the coin.

6. Joe bites coin
The time-honored test.
 
Joe tells Frank that the coins are fake, Frank then mentions that they go on display the next day at the local museum and then will be returned to the National Museum in Cairo.
 
Joe claims that they have stumbled upon a plan to replace the real coins with fakes.
 
Joe goes to his place and finds it searched. He then sees a pretty girl sitting at a table.

7. Truly Paul
She introduces herself as Truly Paul and asks him about the coins. Joe asks her if she has a gun and she removes some clothes.

8. Search me
Truly tells Joe that her father was the late Dr. Emile Paul who discovered the coins in Egypt and brought them to America eight years ago.

9. Joe holds coin
Trudy continues that coins in the local museum are fakes as Dr. Paul's partner switched the coins. She then claims that she and the man the two brothers hit went to Switzerland and "persuaded" the partner to give them the real coins.
 
Frank arrives and finds Joe and Truly kissing. Truly tells Frank that the coins that they have are the real ones. Joe accompanies Truly to the Bayport Museum.

Joe and Truly use a rope to enter the display room.

11. Swapping the goods
Truly leaves her coins and takes the museum coins.

Frank arrives and grabs Truly.

Frank tells Joe that the real Truly Paul died as a child.
 
Another reporter suggests that Frank write the story for the newspaper.
