The 1962 film "Tales of Terror" is based on stories written by the American writer Edgar Allan Poe. All of the stories are set in the mid 1800's. The original Poe stories are horror stories but the film has added comedy elements to the stories.

The film has three episodes all of which star Vincent Price. Only the second episode, "The Black Cat", features coins. This episode is based on the Poe stories "The Black Cat" and "The Cask of Amontillado".

An elderly man and his pretty young wife Annabel live together with her large black cat. The man has become an alcoholic and frequently needs money for visits to the local pub.

One time while searching for money he finds a jar with some coins in it. The coins appear to be film prop coins with possibly some American coins.
