The 1962 film "Ride the High Country" is a Western film set in early 20th century California.
 
Two men, Gil Westrum (Randolph Scott) and Steve Judd (Joel McCrea) are two old friends who are hired to take some gold from a mine to a town. They encounter a young girl Elsa Knudsen (Mariette Hartley) who has run away from home and accompanies them.
 
Steve rides into town and meets Gil who is running a carnival shooting attraction. Gil recognizes Steve as an old friend and they talk. Steve then puts a dime on the table. Only the reverse of the dime is shown as a Mercury dime.
