The 1953 film "Raiders of the Seven Seas" is a fictional story about the seventeenth century pirate
Barbarossa. Here Barbarossa escapes from Morocco, takes over a ship, and heads for the Caribbean.

Barbarossa sees Alida, the Spanish governor's daughter.

Alida is engaged in an arranged marriage to an official, Captain Jose Salcedo, whom she dislikes.
Barbarossa introduces himself to her and then leaves after an argument.

They discuss how to get rid of Barbarossa and his ship.

The crewmen guides Captain Salcedo and the ransom to meet with Barbarossa.
A horse is carrying a saddlebag with the gold and the crewman looks into the bag.

The crewman picks up a couple of coins.

The bag appears with the coins which would probably be Spanish doubloons or eight escudo coins.

The crewman reveals himself to be Barbarossa and the two men engage in a sword fight.
Barbarossa ties the captain to a tree and rides off with Alida.
The captain's men arrive and rescue him.
Barbarossa assembles a French fleet to fight the Spanish fleet and takes Alida to a ship.
