The 1937 film "London by Night" is a crime comedy based on an unproduced stage play The Umbrella
by William Matthew Scott.

Newspaper reporter Michael Denis (George Murphy) and socialite Patricia Herrick (Rita Johnson) hunt a London murderer known as "The Umbrella Man" as he always carries an umbrella to hide his identity. Michael is also accompanied by his dog Corky.

At one point the pair enter a local pub named Casey's and talk to a barmaid. A cash register is opened and holds a check made out to Casey's Pub. The register also shows various British coins.
