The 1943 film "The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp" is about a British Army officer, Clive Wynne-Candy (Roger Livesey), and his career from the Boer War (1899-1902) to World War II. The title character "Colonel Blimp" does not appear in the film. After returning from South Africa, Wynne-Candy is sent to Germany where he meets Edith Hunter (Deborah Kerr). He romances her but she marries a German officer. Wynne-Candy fights in World War I and meets Barbara Wynne (Deborah Kerr again) and marries her. Barbara dies in 1926 and Candy retires in 1935 to a life of big game hunting. Wynne-Candy joins the Home Guard during World War II and hires a driver Angela "Johnny" Cannon (Deborah Kerr again). In Germany Wynne-Candy and Edith Hunter flip a coin to decide a date. The coin appears to be a prop coin which is not identified.
