A Florida dolphin finds an old Spanish coin and causes a commotion

"Flipper" was a one-half hour television program which ran on the NBC television network
from 1964 to 1967.
Florida beach park ranger Porter Ricks and his two sons, Sandy and Bud, keep a bottlenose dolphin named Flipper as a pet.

The coin is shown in close-up and appears to be an imitation of a Spanish "cob" coin.

Bud takes the coin to a local coin dealer, Mr. Johnson.

The dealer offers Bud three dollars for the coin.
Joanne Thomas, a woman who works for a resort, is in the store.

Joanne offers Bud seven dollars and he sells the coin to her.
![]() 11. Porter and Sandy read the news
A newspaper article claims that the coin is from a sunken Spanish treasure ship.
The boats have arrived with treasure hunters.

They turn the map over and find that it is an advertisement for a marine goods store.
The treasure hunters leave and as punishment for causing the problem Porter orders Bud and Hap
to spend time picking up the trash left by the hunters.

Hap also agrees to stop telling tall stories for a week.
He pulls out a coin and shows it to Bud.
