Two imitation Spanish Doubloon coins serve as $50 gold pieces

"Bat Masterson" was a half-hour television program which ran on the NBC television network from
1958 to 1961. The program was loosely based on the real Bat Masterson who spent some time in the American West.
He is portrayed by Gene Barry and frequently wears a derby hat and carries a cane.
The coins land on the ground and show the reverses of imitation Spanish Doubloon gold coins. |

Bat Masterson and Frank Holloway plan to open a gambling enterprise and each has put up $5,000 in gold.
Frank is attacked by robbers and before dying asks Bat to deliver his $5,000 to his brother Dane Holloway.
![]() 2. Andrew Strathmere, Eva Rogers, and Bat
Andrew tells Bat that Dane is an outlaw whose gang preys on the local ranchers by stealing cattle and horses.
Andrew asks Bat to kill Dane. Eva tells Bat that Andrew is lying about Dane. Bat goes to see Dane.

Bat gives the $5,000 to Dane and asks for $100 in two $50 gold pieces which he takes back to the Strathmere ranch.
![]() 4. Bat returns to the Strathmere ranch
Bat tells Andrew that he has killed Dane but then lets Eva know that Dane is alive and waiting for her.

Bat then stands over Andrew.
![]() 6. Bat pulls out the $50 gold pieces
Bat pulls out the two $50 gold coins and throws them at Andrew as his "reward" for finding Dane.

The two coin reverses appear and are similar to the reverses of Spanish Doubloon or Eight Escudo gold coins.
