Professor from 1890 time-travels to 2001 and sells a US five-dollar gold coin

The 2002 film "Time Changer" is a religious science-fiction film about a time traveller who travels from
the year 1890 to an unspecified year near 2001. The time traveller is a deeply religious and conservative
professor at a Bible college and and is shocked by the things he sees in the future.

1. Professors meet
Prof. Russell Carlisle (D. David Morin) has just written a book and needs the approval of a committee
to publish the book. Prof. Norris Anderson (Gavin MacLeod) objects to some of the theology in the book
and an argument ensues. Later Anderson contacts Carlisle and asks him to visit him.
2. Prof. Anderson shows his invention
Anderson claims that he has built a time travel machine and also claims to have taken a trip to the
early 21st century. Anderson wants to show Carlisle that people in the future are less religious than
in 1890.
3. Anderson sets the time
Anderson tells Carlisle that he will return in four days and gives him a purse with some gold coins.
He tells Carlisle that the prices for things in the future are unbelievable.
4. Prof. Carlisle heads to the future
Carlisle lands in an alley and starts walking around.
5. The future is here!
He is amazed by the buildings and frightened by the vehicles.
He finds a newspaper and looks at it.
6. Prof. Carlisle reads the date
He reads the date aloud as October 21, two-thousand and something.
He then heads to a pawn shop to sell a coin.
7. Carlisle sells a coin
The pawn broker examines the coin.
8. Pawn broker examines coin
The broker tells him that the coin looks new and then looks at the other side.
9. Pawn broker examines coin closer
The reverse is not shown clearly.
10. Broker writes out price
The broker writes out a price and shows the amount to Carlisle. Carlisle first implies that the price is
too low but then thanks the broker for being a "Christian gentleman."
11. Prof. Carlisle meets Michelle Bain
They find that they share the same religious beliefs and she complains about the modern society that she
lives in.
12. Carlisle complains about movie
It is near time for Carlisle to travel back to 1890 and he checks out of his hotel, leaving some bills and
coins as a tip for the bellboy.
13. Cash and coins on the table
The coins appear to be a quarter (25 cents) and a nickel (5 cents).
14. Back to the past
Carlisle apologizes to Anderson for disbelieving his complaints about the future and rewrites his manuscript
which he hands out at a meeting.
15. Prof. Carlisle hands out revised manuscript
Prof. Anderson then tries another experiment.
16. Prof. Anderson and his machine
He takes a large old Bible and attempts to send it further into the future to the year 2090 but finds
that he can't. He tries to send it to 2080, 2070 and fails also.
