The 1957 film "The Sun Also Rises" is based on the 1926 Ernest Hemingway novel of the same name. Jake Barnes (Tyrone Power), a World War I veteran, is living in Paris, France in 1922 where he works as a newspaper writer.

Jake meets an old girlfriend, Lady Brett Ashley (Ava Gardner), whose title comes from her deceased husband. Brett would like to get back together with Jake but he isn't interested. Jake also encounters Mike Campbell (Errol Flynn), Brett's sort-of fiancee.

After spending some time in Paris, the group heads for Pamplona, Spain to attend the Fiesta and to watch bullfights.
