Prev Back Next
The 2010 film "Robin Hood" is about the early life of England's legendary 12th century hero before he became an outlaw, assembled his "Merry Men", and moved to Sherwood Forest.

Robin begins as a soldier working for King Richard the Lionheart (Richard I). He accompanies the king's army to France. When the king is killed, Robin and some friends return to England where they move to Nottingham. They battle raiders and later French invaders.

A dying knight is shown with silver coins scattered on the ground. Tax collectors visit a town and a table with gold cups and gold coins appears. Later the tax collectors return and the residents give up silver coins. The coins are portrayed by imitations of real English coins of the period.
