Long-time bank robber encounters Lincoln cents and gold coins and bars

The 2018 film "The Old Man & the Gun" is about a career bank robber in the early 1980's who has a relationship with a middle-aged widow while committing armed robberies.
 
At one point the man robs a bank and takes some bills from a teller's change box. Some Lincoln shield cents appear. Later the man with two accomplices break into a bank safe and steal some gold coins which are shown.

1. Title
Forrest Tucker is a career thief who has graduated to robbing banks. His method is to tell the bank manager that he has a gun and asks the manager to fill a briefcase with cash. Forrest is a senior citizen and very polite.
 
After a robbery he is driving along a highway and he sees a woman standing next to a stalled car.

2. Forrest meets Jewel
He introduces himself and offers to drive her to a firm where she can have her car retrieved and fixed.
 
Jewel is a widow who owns a small ranch and three horses. Forrest tells her that he has never ridden a horse but would like to some time.
 
Forrest and two accomplices, Teddy and Waller, visit a bank. Teddy waits in the car and Forrest speaks to the manager.

Forrest collects the manager's cash and then pulls some bills out of a cashier's tray.

Some Lincoln cents appear with the "shield" reverse which were minted starting in 2010.
 
Police Detective John Hunt has been pursuing the robbers.

Forrest sometimes works alone and sometimes with accomplices.

A security guard starts shooting and the robbers leave with some gold but not the cash.

The bills are the "small head" bills produced before 1996.
 
Forrest leaves something for John.

The $100 bill has printed on it "To John Hunt - Good Luck - Sincerely - The Over The Hill Gang".

The gold coins are only prop coins and do not match any real gold coins. The gold bars are presumably imitations also.

A San Francisco woman sends a picture of her father Forrest to Detective Hunt. He interviews the woman and then sees one of Forrest's previous attorneys. The attorney shows Detective Hunt various mug shots.

The police appear and after a chase arrest Forrest.

This time Forrest does not escape but is released and joins Jewel.

When he was finally caught, the officers on the scene noted that as they arrested him...
he was smiling.
