The 2018 film "The Numismatist" is a British short film supernatural story about a man named Robert who finds an old coin in a field.
 
He finds that he can't get rid of the coin and then he encounters the ghost of a woman who died in the area.

1. Title
The story is set in Britain in the area of Wellingborough in Northamptonshire.
A man named Robert has lost his job because of a woman's sexual assault complaint.
 
He takes a rope to an old building intending to hang himself.

2. Robert gets ready
He sees something outside.

He goes and picks up the item which is a small box.
At home he extracts a coin and a note which is never shown.

4. Robert holds the coin
The coin reverse shows four heraldic shields.
 
Robert then visits the local museum to see if someone there can identify the coin.

He shows the coin and the note to the curator

The curator tells Robert that the coin isn't worth much and that the note refers to a local ghost story, the "Lady Iris". He advises Robert to get rid of the coin.

George is at home when he sees someone at the door.

9. Eyes
He doesn't know it but he is about to meet Iris.
 
Robert visits the museum again and talks to the curator who is not happy to see him. He tells the curator that he can't get rid of the coin. He threw it in bin, flushed it down toilet, and threw it over a bridge. The curator calls it a "bad penny" and tells Robert about the "King's Shilling."
 
The "King's Shilling" was given to men drafted into the Armed Forces. The story is that some soldiers accidently picked up a young girl.
 
She was found swinging from a tree with a George the Third shilling in her fist. The residents called her the "Lady Iris" and she became a local ghost story.
 
Robert goes back to the fields and encounters Iris.

Back home he is visited by a woman named Laura (who looks like Iris).

They spend some time together.
 
Robert returns to the field and encounters Iris.

Robert's telephone receives a voice message that the girl who accused him of sexual advances has recanted her story.
