The City of Benicia was founded in 1847 and became prominent in the California Gold Rush.
A United States Army post and arsenal was located there.
Benicia briefly became the state capitol from 1853 to 1854.
It now houses residences, historic buildings, and a museum.
 
This chapter has merged with the Vallejo Naval Chapter.
